The Asian Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City is one of the more basic hotels you will find in all of Vietnam. Don’t get the wrong idea; this doesn’t mean it’s a bad hotel by any means. It’s just that they put more of a focus on service than décor. Some travelers appreciate this and others do not. A lot will have to do with what you’re looking for. While the Asian Hotel has a 4-star traveler rating, it’s important to keep in mind that this is a very traditional hotel. In other words, it’s not likely that you will be impressed by the furniture or amenities. The furniture is on the old side and the amenities are limited. On the other hand, you still get a lot for your money. This is because of a great pool, a good restaurant, WiFi service, an airport shuttle, spacious suites, babysitting and child services, a business center, a 24-hour front desk, and overall cleanliness. As hinted at above, the service is also top of the line.

While the interior of the Asian Hotel is nothing to write home about, the grounds are actually very pretty. This leads one to believe that a renovation would make the Asian Hotel the top hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, but perhaps they will realize that on their own down the road. As far as location goes, the Asian Hotel is far away from the hustle and bustle yet still within walking distance to great shopping.
