Location

Set on top of a hill in northwestern Vietnam's breathtaking Hoang Lien Son mountain range, Topas Ecolodge consists of a main lodge building surrounded by 25 private bungalows. The main lodge has a lovely restaurant serving buffet style or set menu Vietnamese meals. The bungalows each have a private bathroom with shower, electricity, and a balcony with mountain views. The "Executive Bungalows" are larger and have AC. Bungalow prices per night range from $90-$130 US, with discounts available for packages and multi-night stays. As the accommodations are fairly basic, the main attractions of Topas Ecolodge are its fantastic mountain views, its proximity to walking tours among local hill tribes, and its dedication to sustainable eco-tourism. The lodge uses solar technology to supply its power, has installed a wastewater facility to avoid polluting the surrounding area, and provides employment to many local residents.

The lodge is located about 45 minutes outside of the tourism hub of Sapa, which can easily be reached by train from Hanoi. Sapa is a small but vibrant town, with a lively market scene and many restaurants. Once out of Sapa, entertainment options focus more on the beautiful scenery and tranquil atmosphere of the mountains. Topas Ecolodge can arrange short walking tours, longer treking tours, mountain climbing and mountain biking. The serene setting is perfect for relaxing, unwinding, and simply enjoying the beauty of northern Vietnam.
