Vinpearl Resort & Spa is a massive, modern resort complex in southeast Vietnam. Since its opening in 2003, it has been a favorite destination for tourists. Vinpearl is located just off the coast of the city of Nha Trang, on Hon Tre Island. It can be reached from Nha Trang by a short boat ride, or via cable car -- the latter being the longest water-crossing cable car system in the world.

Vinpearl consists of a sprawling complex with two huge buildings, comprising almost 500 luxurious and comfortable rooms, including suites and private villas. In-room amenities include full bath, satellite TV and wireless Internet, international direct dial phone, minibar, and a private balcony for most rooms. Each building also includes a fitness center, and both indoor and outdoor pools are available. At 10,000 square feet, the outdoor pool is the largest in Southeast Asia. Each building also has its own restaurant and bars, and the complex also contains an open-air beachside restaurant and a clifftop restaurant overlooking the bay.

One unusual feature of the resort is the attached Vinpearl Land amusement and water park, which is free to hotel guests. Vinpearl Land includes roller coasters, animal shows, carousels, video arcades, a shopping mall, and an "Underwater World" aquarium with over 300 species of fish from all over the world. While it won't make anyone forget Disneyland, the park makes Vinpearl a particularly attractive location for families with children. For more grown-up forms of relaxation, the hotel also includes the Viet Spa, which provides guests with beauty, relaxation, and wellness service.

The resort also owns almost a full kilometer of private beach and will provide equipment for beach fun, such as jet skis, snorkels and scuba diving gear, windsurfing boards, and parasailing equipment. The hotel staff can also arrange for boating and fishing trips, by motor, sail, or even canoe.

The hotel staff will also be happy to help arrange transportation if you want to return to the mainland to explore. One popular destination in Nha Trang is the Thap Ba Hot Springs, where you can relax in a hot mud bath or mineral pool and then get a massage. If you wish to explore Vietnamese culture, visit the Long Son pagoda, home to a famous sleeping Buddha statue, or the Po Ngar towers, the remains of a temple fortress built by the Cham people in the 8th century.
