The drive
From the airport the driver heads east out of Saigon, then takes the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau expressway or the Long Thanh–Dau Giay expressway and the coast road, entering Vung Tau at the Thang Tam end. Pullman is on Thi Sach Street in Thang Tam, so you don’t pass through the centre.
The slow part is leaving Saigon. After that the road is fast. Friday evenings are the worst time to arrive: weekend traffic from the city fills the roads into Vung Tau.
Why a car
The hydrofoil from District 1 is quick, but it lands at the port and the hotel is a taxi ride across town. From the airport you’d also need to reach the pier first. A booked car goes from arrivals to the hotel in one drive, with a name sign, flight tracking and 90 minutes of free waiting. We hold our drivers to a standard of calm driving, sparing horn, no smoke and a clean cabin, and we send a 7-seater if you have children or bags.
Arriving at the hotel
The car stops at the main entrance. If you arrive before check-in, the hotel will usually hold luggage.
Who this suits
Families and couples who want a full-service hotel with a pool and kids’ club close to Back Beach, and weekenders from Saigon. It is a town hotel, so evenings are easy on foot to the Thang Tam restaurants. For the wider area, see Vung Tau; for something quieter, the Ho Tram strip is under an hour away.
Going back
Set the booking box to Pullman Vung Tau and the airport. Leave at least 5 hours before an international flight, and more on Sunday afternoons.
