LoretoFest raised money for Loreto Vietnam-Australia, a charity that funds education projects for disadvantaged and disabled young people in the city and the countryside. The second festival was on 29 November 2008, 2pm to midnight, at RMIT’s campus in District 7. Tickets were $25 in advance, and the line-up mixed Australian act Regurgitator with Vietnamese and expat bands. The first had been held at the same campus the year before (SGGP, 2007).
In 2026
The festival kept going for a while, with a 2010 edition announced as a fundraiser for the same charity (Hanoi Grapevine). I could not find a current edition, so assume it no longer runs. For what is on now, check local listings, and for the city, see Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon’s night markets.
