What it is
The building is styled after a traditional Hue townhouse, with wooden gates and carved details. The menu is long: seafood (clams, oysters, shrimp, squid, crab), pork, beef and chicken dishes, noodle soups, rice dishes, salads, vegetarian options and drinks. Its own pages describe food from the north, centre and south.
Where and when
138 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Ben Nghe ward, District 1, close to the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum. Its Facebook page gives opening from about 8 am; phone (028) 3820 6666.
What it costs
Items on the menu we sampled online run from 35,000 dong to about 730,000 dong, so you can spend a little or a lot depending on whether you order a bowl of noodles or a seafood dish. Check the menu and ask about weight-priced items.
Nearby
The restaurant is a good place to try many Vietnamese dishes in one sitting. Next door at 134-136, Ben Nghe Street Food is a food court of stalls (see our note on Bun Ta). For more, see the Ho Chi Minh City guide and Saigon’s night markets.
