The drive
From Tan Son Nhat the driver heads east to the Long Thanh–Dau Giay expressway, then the Dau Giay–Phan Thiet expressway to its end north of Phan Thiet, and runs along the Mui Ne coast road to the resort. Leaving Saigon is the slow hour. After that the expressway is quick and quiet, and you can ask for a stop whenever you like.
Travelling with children
The resort is aimed at families, and the drive is the hard part of a trip with children. We steer families to 7-seaters, because the small cars are tight for five with bags, and child seats are available on request. Calm driving, a sparing horn and a non-smoking cabin matter more with a sleeping child in the back. Ask for a stop on the way for a snack or toilet break.
Arriving at the resort
The car stops at the main entrance. If you arrive before check-in, ask the resort to hold bags while you use the pool.
Who this suits
Families who want one large resort with pools for the children, and who don’t need to be in Ham Tien each evening. The kite schools and restaurants of Ham Tien are 5–10 minutes away, and a car can take you out for dinner and bring you back. For the area and the dunes, see Mui Ne and Phan Thiet. Another resort nearby is the Anantara, which is at the Phan Thiet end.
Going back
Set the booking box to the resort and Tan Son Nhat. Leave about 5 hours before an international flight, longer on Friday and Sunday afternoons.
