Saigon airport to Eastin Grand Hotel Saigon

The Eastin Grand sits on Nguyen Van Troi in Phu Nhuan, about 3 km from the terminals and about 10 minutes by car. The airport run is short, so the value of a booked car here is the early flight, the late arrival and the long trip that starts from this side of town.

Why does a 10-minute airport hop need a booked car?

The Eastin Grand is one of the nearest five-star hotels to Tan Son Nhat, 2.9 km by Agoda’s measure and 10 minutes by the hotel’s own, so a transfer here is rarely about distance. It is about the two ends of the day. A 2 am landing after fast-track immigration, a 6 am departure to Da Nang, or a flight you have to catch from a Mekong day trip are the cases where a driver who has your flight number is worth having, and where waiting for a street taxi is not. The hotel’s own FAQ puts a public taxi to the airport at VND 80,000 or so, which is a fair figure for the short run in daylight; the booked car is for the other hours.

What do the hotel’s own transfer terms say?

The limousine page offers cars to and from Tan Son Nhat and also lists Long Thanh, with no price on the page. It asks for the concierge by email, recommends advance booking, and says rates carry service charge and tax. The FAQ says a hotel representative with an Eastin sign meets arriving guests in the hall and escorts them to the limousine. If you are comparing a quote, ask which vehicle it covers.

Which entrance, and what is on the street?

The address is 253 Nguyen Van Troi Street in Phu Nhuan ward. It is a main road on the airport side of Phu Nhuan, so expect traffic at rush hour. The hotel lists two parking areas, at its front and back entrances, which helps a pickup: tell the driver front or back. Agoda counts 44 places within walking distance, with Phu Nhuan Hospital 240 m away and Le Van Sy Street about 500 m. The hotel puts the centre at 2.3 km by its own count, and its closest metro stations are Ben Thanh at 4.6 km and the Opera House at 5 km.

What about a layover or a long trip from here?

Because the airport is minutes away, this is a good base for a connection or for a trip that starts early. Vung Tau is about 1½ to 2½ hours, Mui Ne 3 to 4 (2½ on a clear run), Can Tho 2½ to 3½ and My Tho about 1½ to 2. You start on the west side of the city, so the first stretch is across town; leaving before 6:30 helps. For the other airport option, see Saigon airport transfers.

Our driver standard

The car you'd want after a long flight

Car quality in Vietnam varies wildly: a driver smoking between jobs, seatbelts tucked away or missing, a car that's done half a million kilometres. This is the standard we hold every driver to, and what we ask you about after every trip.

  • Calm hands on the wheel. Smooth, unhurried driving. Safety comes before speed, every time.
  • The horn is for emergencies. Not a musical instrument. Anyone who has sat in Saigon traffic knows why we say this.
  • No smoke, no perfume bomb. Nobody smokes in our cars, and there's no air freshener strong enough to make your eyes water.
  • Air you'd want to breathe. Cabin filters changed on schedule, so the air-con blows clean, not twenty years of exhaust.
  • Newer cars, kind suspension. Cars in good condition, with seats and suspension made for a four-hour drive.
  • Seatbelts that work. In every seat. Child seats are free on request.
