Is Golden Sun Hotel Dalat the old Golden Imperial?
Yes. Golden Sun Hotel - Dalat is the hotel that opened as the Golden Imperial Hotel Dalat, behind Lam Vien Square. It was being readied for an opening in early 2024 (Bao Moi, March 2024) and now trades under the name of its owner’s Golden Sun group, which also runs a hotel at Mang Den. Booking.com’s page still carries the old name in its web address, and Traveloka notes the change.
If you booked “Golden Imperial”, you’re staying here. Either name works with the driver.
Where is Golden Sun Hotel Dalat?
The hotel sits in the International Commercial Centre block directly behind Lam Vien Square, the open space on the east shore of Xuan Huong Lake with the big glass artichoke and flower-bud buildings. Listings give the address as Lot A1 or as 1 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, in Xuan Huong–Da Lat ward (Ward 10 before July 2025). Lam Vien Square, the lake and the city flower garden are all within a few minutes, which makes it one of the most central addresses in town.
How many stars, and what’s inside?
Golden Sun is built to a five-star standard over eight floors including the basement, on about 5,000 m² (Golden Sun’s own project page). Inside are an indoor heated pool that works year-round, a spa, a gym, a 300-seat conference hall, a restaurant and an outdoor terrace restaurant, and a sky bar on the top floor looking over the lake. Some booking sites list it as four-star, so if the grade matters, check the official listing.
It suits couples and families who want a new hotel with a pool in the middle of town, a short walk from the lake and the flower festival.
How far is Golden Sun Hotel Dalat from the airport?
About 29 km from Lien Khuong airport (DLI), or 35 to 50 minutes by car. The car runs north up the four-lane highway, climbs the Prenn pass, and comes round the lake to Lam Vien Square. Lien Khuong reopened on 19 August 2026 with a rebuilt runway; our Da Lat airport guide lists the flights.
The driver tracks the flight and meets you in arrivals with a name sign, then drops you at the hotel’s main entrance. Around Lam Vien Square the streets are busy on festival nights and weekends, so the last few hundred metres can be slow.
Getting to Golden Sun from Saigon or the coast
From Saigon it’s 6 to 7 hours, from Mui Ne 3½ to 4½ and from Nha Trang 3 to 3¾ (the Da Lat page has the roads). In the flower-festival fortnight, from 19 to 31 December 2026, the streets round Lam Vien Square are at their busiest in the evenings, so arrive before dark if you can.
Around Lam Vien Square
Lam Vien Square is where the Da Lat Flower Festival opens; the 11th festival runs from 19 to 31 December 2026, and rooms near the square go early. The lake path starts across the road. The night market is a 10 to 15 minute walk round the lake, and the Crazy House and the Bao Dai palace are a short drive. See things to do in Da Lat for the rest.
Leaving Golden Sun Hotel Dalat
For Lien Khuong, leave about 2 hours before a domestic flight. A taxi from Golden Sun to Nha Trang should leave in the morning to clear the Khanh Le pass before it closes at 6 pm. For Mui Ne, Bao Loc or Saigon, a morning start gets you there in daylight. The table below has drive times and prices from the hotel to each zone, and the same trips run the other way.
