What happened to Ha Hien Hotel?
The old listing gave Ha Hien Hotel a 2 star rating and 63 rooms at 145-147 Ly Tu Trong, “newly opened”, with 24 hour reception, room service, parking and a generator. Later it traded as Ha Hien Signature Hotel, a 3 star. Today the same address appears on booking sites as KiN Hotel Ly Tu Trong Edition, with a breakfast buffet, a poolside bar and a rooftop terrace, and Agoda lists it as newly built in 2025 with 60 rooms. Treat Ha Hien as the name your taxi map may still show, and KiN as the sign above the door.
Which street am I on, and where does the car stop?
Ly Tu Trong runs a few blocks north of Ben Thanh Market in the grid between Le Thanh Ton and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. It is a busy city street rather than a hotel drive, so the car stops at the kerb outside the hotel on Ly Tu Trong and the bags are carried in. With one or two passengers a sedan is the right choice, and it is also the easiest vehicle to park at the kerb. A larger group with luggage should take a 7-seater and expect a slightly longer stop.
Is Ha Hien close enough to walk to the sights?
This is the reason to pick the hotel. Ben Thanh Market is about five minutes, Dong Khoi and the Opera House about eight, and the Ho Chi Minh City Museum ten. The backpacker streets around Pham Ngu Lao and Bui Vien are a 10 to 15 minute walk, which means late dinners without a taxi. The War Remnants Museum is a short drive.
What does the street feel like at night?
Ly Tu Trong is a short walk from the covered market’s evening lanes and from the Le Thanh Ton bar strip, so noise from motorbikes and late restaurants is part of the deal. Ask for an upper floor at check-in. Arriving after midnight, tell the hotel your flight number so the front desk is awake: the 24 hour reception on the old listing is the reason many guests pick it for late flights.
Do they run an airport pickup?
Booking.com lists airport transfers at the hotel and Klook says to arrange them 48 hours ahead, but no price is published (read 4 Oct 2026). The 6.5 km ride is short enough that the choice is just meeting at arrivals or hailing a taxi at the rank; a booked sedan removes the queue.
From Ly Tu Trong to Mui Ne, Vung Tau or Can Tho
Day one of an onward trip leaves a congested centre; Mui Ne is 3 to 4 hours, Vung Tau 1½ to 2½, Can Tho 2½ to 3½.
