Where the car stops

The main entrance on Ton Duc Thang, on the riverfront road. Say '3C Ton Duc Thang' to the driver; the doormen take the bags.

3C Ton Duc Thang Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

Compared with the resort's own car

Resort transfer: VND 1,850,000 per vehicle one way (maximum 2 passengers), as listed on Klook and Wotif pages for Le Meridien Saigon, read Oct 2026. The hotel's own Marriott page could not be opened, so confirm when you book.

Our private car: $15 (400.000₫) for a sedan, $17 for a 7-seater. Per car, tolls included.

Booked with us, you see the fixed price per car; a 7-seater suits a family with bags.

Is Le Meridien on the river or in the centre?

Both, in a narrow way. The hotel is at 3C Ton Duc Thang, the road that runs along the Saigon River, so rooms on the river side look over the water, and the Ton Duc Thang Museum is 3 to 4 minutes’ walk (about 300 m). The Opera House is 800 m away, 8 to 9 minutes, and Dong Khoi starts just beyond that. The hotel is a tower with 345 rooms, and is the Marriott group’s Le Méridien brand in the city, so the Marriott phone line, +84 28 6263 6688, is the one to ring for pickups.

Which entrance, and how do I tell the driver?

“Le Meridien, 3C Ton Duc Thang” is the phrase. The road is a busy riverfront street, so the front entrance is a short stop and not a place to wait. For leaving, be at the entrance when the car arrives.

What does the hotel charge for an airport car?

Klook and Wotif both show an airport shuttle fee of VND 1,850,000 per vehicle one way, maximum 2 passengers (read Oct 2026). The hotel’s own page, on Marriott’s site, would not open for us, so ask when you book. A Tripadvisor guest in 2017 said the hotel’s car service was one of the easiest ways to reach the city, but that is not a price. With the two-passenger cap, the comparison for four with luggage is a 7-seater, not the sedan.

How far is it from Tan Son Nhat, really?

About 8 km. Budget 30 to 60 minutes, and longer if your flight lands between 4 and 7 pm; late-night arrivals are quick.

Who else is on Ton Duc Thang?

Lotte Hotel Saigon, the former Legend Hotel, is a few minutes along the same road, and Hotel Majestic Saigon is at the Dong Khoi end. If a friend is staying in one and you in another, the airport run is identical, so one car can drop both.

Taxi from Le Meridien to Mui Ne, Can Tho or Vung Tau

The river road is a handy start for the Mekong side. Mui Ne is 2½ hours on a clear run, typically 3 to 4. Can Tho is 2½ to 3½, and Vung Tau 1½ to 2½. Cu Chi and Can Gio can be done as a day with the car waiting.

Our driver standard

The car you'd want after a long flight

Car quality in Vietnam varies wildly: a driver smoking between jobs, seatbelts tucked away or missing, a car that's done half a million kilometres. This is the standard we hold every driver to, and what we ask you about after every trip.

  • Calm hands on the wheel. Smooth, unhurried driving. Safety comes before speed, every time.
  • The horn is for emergencies. Not a musical instrument. Anyone who has sat in Saigon traffic knows why we say this.
  • No smoke, no perfume bomb. Nobody smokes in our cars, and there's no air freshener strong enough to make your eyes water.
  • Air you'd want to breathe. Cabin filters changed on schedule, so the air-con blows clean, not twenty years of exhaust.
  • Newer cars, kind suspension. Cars in good condition, with seats and suspension made for a four-hour drive.
  • Seatbelts that work. In every seat. Child seats are free on request.
