Serviced apartments, 15 years in
Sherwood Residence describes itself as one of the first luxury serviced residences in Saigon, with more than 15 years of short and long stays. The old listing described it as a place near schools, a cathedral and consulates, which is still its character: diplomats, long-stay business families and holiday families who want a kitchen. The apartments are large. The two-bedroom premier is 82 square metres for two adults and a child, the three-bedroom executive is 143 square metres for five adults and a child, and the penthouse is 200.
How far is Sherwood Residence from the airport?
Close: about 5 km, and the hotel says 20 minutes. Tan Son Nhat sits in the north-west of the city and Pasteur Street is on the central side of District 3, so this is one of the shorter hotel runs. The cost of the ride is mostly the pick-up, not the distance.
Which car for a family of six?
This is the page’s real question. The three-bedroom executive takes five adults and one child, and that is how long-stay families arrive: with a stroller, suitcases and boxes. A sedan carries two or three people with two bags. For four or five, take the 7-seater, and for six with real luggage, a 16-seater is what the hotel’s own guests ask for on traveller forums. Child seats are on request.
What is the address and which door?
The address is 127 Pasteur Street, Xuan Hoa Ward (the hotel’s own spelling). The hotel gives no separate entrance, so the main door on Pasteur is the stop. The old District 3 name is still what drivers know, so “Sherwood Residence, 127 Pasteur” is enough.
Can I walk to the War Remnants Museum from Sherwood Residence?
Booking sites list the War Remnants Museum and Notre-Dame Cathedral as roughly 15 minutes on foot, and a guest review on the hotel’s own site calls a Co.op supermarket across the road convenient. Ben Thanh and Dong Khoi are short rides rather than walks. The hotel runs a free hourly shuttle to the centre for those who prefer not to walk.
Day trips and onward routes from Pasteur
Families staying a week often use the apartment as a base. A car with a driver can do Cu Chi in 1½ to 2 hours each way, wait, and bring you back. Mui Ne is 2½ to 4 hours one way and Vung Tau 1½ to 2½. For a move from here to a beach resort with the full luggage, the 7-seater is the sensible start.
