Where is Terracotta Dalat?
Terracotta Hotel & Resort Dalat sits on a peninsula of more than 17 hectares on Tuyen Lam Lake, 6 km south of central Da Lat. The pine forest runs down to the water on three sides, and paths follow the shore. It has been open since 2014, and with 330 rooms it’s one of the larger resorts at the lake.
The address is functional zone 7.9 of the Tuyen Lam Lake national tourist area. Since the July 2025 reorganisation that’s in Xuan Huong–Da Lat ward, and older bookings may say Ward 4. Drivers know the resort by name. Our Tuyen Lam Lake guide has the rest of the lake.
Lakeside villa or hotel room: where does the car stop?
The car stops at the main hotel lobby. Terracotta has 240 rooms in its hotel buildings and 90 villas of three to five bedrooms along the lake shore. Villa guests check in at the lobby, and the resort takes you on to the villa with the bags. If you’re staying in a villa with a big group, say so when you book, so we send a car with room for everyone and everything.
How far is Terracotta from Lien Khuong airport?
About 28 km, which takes 30 to 40 minutes by car. The resort’s own site says 20 minutes, which is possible on an empty road. The route runs north from Lien Khuong (DLI) on the four-lane highway, then into the Tuyen Lam area before the Prenn pass, so you never go through town. Lien Khuong reopened on 19 August 2026 after a runway rebuild; see our Lien Khuong airport guide.
Terracotta doesn’t publish its own airport transfer price. Vietnamese agents sell packages for the resort with an airport car included, and one booking site puts a taxi from the airport at about 340,000₫ (undated). A booked car has a fixed price, a name sign at arrivals and the size of car you chose.
Is Terracotta good for families and groups?
Yes, that’s who it’s built for. Groups book the villas, companies hold team-building days on the lawns, and the resort has tennis and pickleball courts, a strawberry and vegetable garden, barbecues and afternoon tea. Weddings and conferences use the Terracotta Plaza hall.
The catch is distance. The centre is 15 to 20 minutes away, so every dinner in town means a car, and the night market is a 20 minute drive back late in the evening. A car and driver for the day suits a family here better than a string of taxis, and a 7-seater fits a family of five with bags and child seats on request.
Driving from Saigon to Terracotta Dalat
From Saigon, allow 6 to 7 hours over about 300 km: the expressway to Dau Giay, Highway 20 through Tan Phu and up the Bao Loc pass, then the Prenn road and the turn to Tuyen Lam. The expressway to Da Lat isn’t built yet, and the first sections are due in 2027. Groups often stop at Bao Loc or Madagui; add a stop when you book. Our Da Lat page has the road in detail.
Terracotta Dalat to Mui Ne, Nha Trang and Saigon
Terracotta has a sister resort on the beach: Terracotta Resort Mui Ne, on Nguyen Dinh Chieu. A private car between the two takes 3½ to 4½ hours, down through the Dai Ninh pass, and since July 2025 both are in Lam Dong province.
Other legs from Terracotta Dalat, both ways:
- Nha Trang: 3 to 3¾ hours over the Khanh Le pass, open from 5 am to 6 pm only;
- Bao Loc: 2¼ to 2¾ hours; Saigon: 6 to 7 hours;
- Lien Khuong airport: 30 to 40 minutes.
The onward table below has every route from the resort. A taxi from Terracotta Dalat to Terracotta Mui Ne costs the same per car as the trip the other way.
