Why do people pick The Myst over the bigger names nearby?
Because it is small, green and a minute from Dong Khoi without being on it. The hotel calls its style minimalist Indochine: asymmetrical windows set among planting, curved corridors that echo Saigon’s old alleys, and handmade vintage-style furniture. Its own account says the brick, tile, iron and wood include reclaimed material from the Ba Son shipyard, some of it over 200 years old. The Ba Son yard sat just up the river on Ton Duc Thang, so the story is local. Rooms have open-air bathrooms and balconies with plants, and the pool is on the 15th floor with a sauna and gym. The hotel was named a luxury cultural hotel at the 2025 World Luxury Hotel Awards, according to its site.
Which street do I give the taxi driver?
Ho Huan Nghiep, number 6-8. It is a short, tree-lined street that meets Dong Khoi, and drivers who only hear “Dong Khoi” tend to stop on the main street and leave you with a walk and a suitcase. Name the side street and the hotel entrance is a short drive in. On the way out, the same applies: tell us the street and we will be at the door.
How far is it from the airport?
About 8 km, which is 30 to 60 minutes. The district is full of one-way streets and the approach on a Friday evening is slow.
What is the hotel’s own airport car price?
None is published. Its site lists a phone number, +84 28 3520 3040, and no tariff (read 4 Oct 2026), so any figure you read elsewhere is an estimate. That makes a fixed-price booking easy to compare: ask the hotel for the figure, then look at the box above.
What can I walk to from The Myst?
Dong Khoi is a minute away, with the galleries and cafés. The Opera House and Nguyen Hue walking street are about five minutes on foot, and the river road at the end of Ho Huan Nghiep is another five. Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office and Ben Thanh Market are short car rides or a long walk. The hotel’s Rooty rooftop bar looks over this stretch of the centre.
Do you drive from The Myst to Mui Ne or Can Tho?
Yes, both directions. Mui Ne is 2½ hours on a clear run and 3 to 4 typically, and Can Tho is 2½ to 3½. Vung Tau is about 1½ to 2½, and Cu Chi works as a half-day with the car waiting. Leave early: the centre’s side streets are the slow part.
