Where exactly is The Reverie Saigon?
The Reverie is not a stand-alone building. It occupies the uppermost floors of the Times Square building, which stands at 22-36 Nguyen Hue Boulevard and runs through to 57-69F Dong Khoi. The hotel counts 286 rooms and 89 residential suites, and it has been part of the Leading Hotels of the World group. Because the building is a mixed tower with two street frontages, a driver who hears only “Nguyen Hue” or “Dong Khoi” may stop at the wrong end. Give “Times Square, 22-36 Nguyen Hue” and the car will stop where the hotel’s own staff are expecting you.
How far is it from the airport, and what will the road be like?
About 8 km, 30 to 60 minutes. Nguyen Hue is a pedestrian street for most of its length, so cars arrive from the side streets. At the end of a weekday afternoon the last kilometre is the slowest part of the ride, not the airport road.
What does the hotel charge for its own cars?
The Reverie publishes a transport tariff on its website. The 2024 version, valid 1 January to 31 December 2024, lists VND 2,100,000 one way for a Mercedes E-Class (three passengers) or the six-seat luxury van, VND 2,500,000 for an S-Class or BMW 730Li, and VND 8,600,000 for the Rolls-Royce Phantom Dragon. All carry 5% service charge and tax. An airport representative can meet you inside the terminal for VND 1,600,000 per person each way, which is the hotel’s fast-track service. The tariff is two years old now, so ask the concierge whether the figures still stand. The hotel’s page for the earlier 2021 tariff was priced in dollars ($80 to $100 for a sedan), a useful sign of how prices have moved.
The practical point: a family of four with suitcases outgrows the E-Class, which the hotel rates for three people with little luggage. The six-seat van has the same price, which is the one to ask for.
What is within walking distance?
Nguyen Hue is at the door, with the old City Hall at one end and the river at the other. The Opera House is about five minutes’ walk along Dong Khoi, and the Park Hyatt and Caravelle sit around Lam Son Square. Ben Thanh Market is five minutes by car. The Dong Khoi frontage also gives you the old shopping street’s galleries and cafés on foot.
Can I leave from The Reverie for Mui Ne, Can Tho or the coast?
Yes, and the first stretch out of the centre is the slow bit, so an early start pays. Mui Ne takes 2½ hours on a clear run and typically 3 to 4. Can Tho is 2½ to 3½ hours, Vung Tau 1½ to 2½. For the half-day trips, Cu Chi and Can Gio both work with the car waiting.
