Is Vinpearl Luxury the same as Vinpearl Resort?
No. Both are on Hon Tre island and both use the same crossing, but Vinpearl Luxury is the villa one. Vinpearl’s own guide, dated November 2025, says it covers about 72,000 square metres with 84 villas, and the official site describes two-storey villas of 110 square metres with a private pool. Vinpearl Resort Nha Trang is another resort on the island; see the Vinpearl Resort page for it. The crossing is the same for both.
What happens at the mainland station?
You arrive at the Vinpearl cable car station and harbour on Tran Phu in Nam Nha Trang ward, about 4 to 5 km from the city centre. A seayou travel guide says guests show a passport or national ID at the mainland check-in, and should arrive 20 to 30 minutes before the crossing with the booking confirmation. Buggies run free inside the resort on the island. Because both the crossing and the check-in are the resort’s, the driver’s job ends at the station.
Cable car or speedboat?
The cable car runs 08:30 to 22:00 with the last pick-up from the island at 21:45, and VinWonders says its length is about 2,650 metres, with cabins for up to 12. A round trip is VND 200,000 for a day visitor, and the cable car is free with Vinpearl accommodation. Travel writers give the crossing as roughly 8 to 15 minutes. After closing, speedboats carry guests, free of charge according to one guide, and they are also the fallback in bad weather. Ask the resort which applies when you land.
How long is the drive to the station?
Typically 40 to 55 minutes from Cam Ranh airport; the station is about 4 to 5 km from the centre. There is no road bridge to Hon Tre.
What does the resort’s airport transfer cost?
Expedia’s Australian site says the property provides an airport shuttle pick-up and warns of fees for changes within 72 hours of arrival, but we could not read a fare, and Vinpearl’s own site was blocked. Ask the resort, and compare it with a fixed per-car fare for the mainland leg shown in the booking box.
Leaving Hon Tre for Da Lat or Mui Ne
Cross back and the car meets you at the station. For Da Lat, read the Da Lat to Nha Trang route; for Mui Ne the Mui Ne to Nha Trang route. See the Nha Trang page for the city.
