Is Bon Bien the same as Four Oceans Beach Resort?
Yes. The Bon Bien Resort at 30 Nguyen Dinh Chieu is now listed as Four Oceans Beach Resort - Bon Bien Mui Ne, and most booking pages show both names. Tell the driver the street number as well.
Is it central?
Listings put it on the central beach of the Mui Ne strip, in Ham Tien, with cafés, shops and massage places close by, and about 10 km from downtown Phan Thiet. Numbers 24 to 32 on the same street are Sailing Club, Cham Villas and a handful of others, so this is a stretch where you can walk out for a meal.
What do you get at three stars?
72 rooms and suites in a tropical garden, a large outdoor pool, a restaurant serving Vietnamese and international dishes, a bar by the beach and pool, a children’s playground, a car park and safes, and help with tours and scooter rentals. Rooms were described as large, with balconies facing the sea. Expect basic rooms rather than a designer finish. Listed rates are well below the five-star resorts at the Phan Thiet end, such as the Anantara and The Anam.
What about the beach?
White sand with sunbeds and parasols, with surf lessons offered. Mui Ne’s beaches change with the seasons and the wind, so the width of sand you find depends on the month.
Is the airport transfer worth booking?
At this price point a resort transfer is rarely published, and none is for Four Oceans. A private car costs more than the long-distance bus, which stops far from the resort, but it takes you from the arrivals hall to the gate in one ride, which counts after a long flight. Families should take a 7-seater.
