Where is Mia Saigon, and why is the boat a thing?
Mia sits on the east bank of the Saigon River at 2-4 Street 10 in An Khanh, the part of Thu Duc that people still call District 2. It has 35 rooms and 18 suites, all with balconies facing the river, the city’s largest outdoor saltwater pool by the hotel’s claim, and a floating dock. The hotel runs a free speedboat for guests from Bach Dang Wharf on Ton Duc Thang, a ride it puts at 15 minutes, and it advertises a scenic arrival by boat. DestinAsian has named it among Asia’s best boutique hotels, according to the hotel’s own site.
How much does Mia Saigon charge for the airport car?
The hotel publishes a transportation price list, dated 15 April 2026. One way from Tan Son Nhat it asks VND 2,200,000 for a Mercedes E-Class (3 passengers, 2 suitcases), VND 2,650,000 for a V-Class (5 passengers, 3 to 5 suitcases) and VND 2,950,000 for an S-Class. All of it carries service charge and VAT, and it wants 24 hours’ notice with flight details. Cancellation needs at least 4 hours’ notice, and a no-show is charged at 100%. A family of five with bags is a V-Class, so that is the figure to compare. Chauffeured hire is also on the list, at VND 3,000,000 for 2 hours in an E-Class, rising to VND 8,500,000 for 8 hours.
Should you come from the airport by car or by boat?
By car. The boat leaves from District 1, so from the terminal you would take a car to the pier anyway. The road trip from Tan Son Nhat is about 40 to 75 minutes, slowest at the evening rush. The boat is the thing to do once you are settled: a short, scenic ride to the Opera House side for dinner and back. Departing guests can reverse it, with a car waiting at the other end for the airport run. Tell the driver the Vietnamese address, An Khanh and Street 10, not “District 2”, which he may take as the wrong bank.
What is there to do around the hotel?
The hotel’s own pitch is a quiet base across the river from the centre. It lists galleries and boutiques within a 10-minute drive in Thao Dien, and its concierge points guests to The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre, Xuan Thuy Street and the Ao Dai Museum. The Muse cocktail bar, Kitchen by the River and Banh by Mia are the dining rooms, and the hotel keeps a day-use rate. The hotel’s site also links a Mia in Nha Trang, covered on our page for Mia Resort Nha Trang if you are heading to the coast.
Leaving Mia for the Mekong, Vung Tau or Mui Ne
Starting from the east bank usually helps on a trip to the coast, because you do not cross the middle of the centre first. Vung Tau is about 1½ to 2½ hours, Mui Ne 3 to 4 hours (2½ on a clear run), and Can Tho and the Mekong 2½ to 3½. A day at Cu Chi is the other way across the city.
